Revamped Malayalam classes (HMC)

Fostering Malayalam language and its rich heritage is one of the critical mission for HRMA. As a community, we believe all of our younger generation should be able to read, write and speak in our native language. With that ambition in mind, starting 2022, HRMA has revamped Junior and Senior Malayalam classes(HMC). This includes hiring a full time Malayalam Teacher and new schedule for both Junior and Senior HMC. Junior batch includes 10 students and Senior batch consists of 5 students.

HMC has completed its first semester through this academic year and proud of all students as they have completed lessons of all 42 consonants and 15 vowels. Our student assistants have engaged in multiple ways and quizizz series curated by them were popular among students. HMC continue to expand the lessons to constructing words, sentences and slowly step into speaking skills through the second semester.

As we’ve moved in to our second semester HMC has focused on Malayalam fluency for both Junior and Senior students. Over the semester Junior students have learnt “kootaksharanghal” vyanchanasharaghal “ and started structuring words and sentences in Malayalam. Our senior students started with “Kuttikavithal & kathakal”. Our student assistants were integral part of the learning process and throughout helped with catch-up classes and other creative ways to help learning as a fun process. HMC also participated in HRMA Onam event and performed an “Onapattu” which was well appreciated by the community. We’re proud of what HMC has achieved this year and wish all students wonderful holidays
